A New Year and a new law!

At 12:01 this morning, New Hampshire's law allowing Civil Unions opened up a new era for Gays and Lesbians throughout the state. We, being who we are, wanted to be among the first. With frozen toes and numb fingers, we joined people from all corners of the state in celebrating our latest victory in the fight for equality.

Thanks go to everyone who have struggled over the years to make this possible. Without people like them, events like what happened tonight would never have happened.

A Christmas tree and Junior can't pee - What a weekend!

Scott and I went to my parent's place in Maine for the weekend. And what a weekend it was! Friday was filled with the unending joy of finding the perfect tree - which, amazingly, every year we manage to do. This year was Scott's find!

All went well until Saturday morning when the cat decided to not be able to pee anymore. Needless to say, you can't blame him for his bad mood. Consequently, we arrived at the vet shortly after they opened on Saturday. What a relief we brought him with us! Had he not been with us, we never would have known anything was wrong!

The tree looks great after we got it decorated on Saturday. Almost nearly ran out of ornaments. Thankfully - just enough. This is a huge tree!!!

Right now, Junior's back at home recovering from the kitty version of kidney stones. Now he's peeing like a racehorse! What a trooper he's been.

We're going back up in 2 weeks....chances are, we'll have just as much fun as we did this weekend (except for the sick cat)!

So...I updated the website to a better color scheme, and created a new better-looking background. Still working on getting our Bio's complete... but it's been slow with Scott and I working so much the past couple of weeks. We hope everyone is well - and reach out to us when you get a chance!

Scott and I are currently working on updating the website to include some more personal things about us and our lives & histories.

We're working hard at getting this updated for your reading please (or displeasure). Please give us a couple more weeks (granted time permits), and we'll be getting that updated.

Finally fixed the "contact" page bug where hitting "enter" submitted the form, as opposed to hitting enter. That will be released when we release the updated "about" page.

New Computer + New Cell Phone

So, we've upgraded our computer to a super-quiet/super-efficient AMD Dual-Core Processor! Yay!!! It is really quick, doesn't have the bottleneck, and is much more responsive than the old computer that would freak out when I was trying to open all the ceremony pics at once!

Scott broke his old phone.... and finally upgraded to a new one!!!! Call him frequently to congratulate him on his purchase!

We received the CD with all the pics from Burnsbright Photography, and they came out fabulous. We did a slideshow with all here photos if you'd like to check it out on the Photo Gallery page. Nice stuff.

Also, we've added another set of pictures to the Shutterfly account (aptly named "Additional Pics"). There are a lot of them, so we hope you enjoy!

But, I'm still looking for pictures! I want to be able to distribute and share pictures from every point of view. Right now, as you can see, the site only have 2 points of view (Scott & myself and Jon &Crystal). I need more!!!!!!

. . . and we're having a meeting with Clay Hill Farm this afternoon to finalize some things on the checklist. We're almost completely ready! The favors have arrived, and we hope you all enjoy them. . . very functional, they are. Thanks go to everybody who we were waiting on getting responses from. Just one person remains, and two people we just need to hear back what they're getting. Fantastic!

The rain storms over the last week really concerned us, as last year a similar storm attacked main and wiped out the main road going to Clay Hill Farm. Thankfully this year, that did not happen. Although the hurricane did reak substantial devestation on the Northeast, no roads that are needed to get to the restaurant were affected.

I hope everyone enjoys what seems to finally be the beginning of Spring. Enjoy, and see you soon!

Nashua to Denver

So, Scott's in Denver all week - and who's left to try to finalize the Guest List for the ceremony? Who else but Brian! I think I've communicated with him more this week than the last couple of weeks (where our schedules have been complete opposites). We have 13 parties we have yet to track down and find out if they're going and what they're getting.

Also getting ready for Thursday's big storm. Gotta love New England . . . Just hoping that it gets this weather out of its system before May starts!!!

Hotel's almost booked solid!

So, we just got off the phone with Frank at the Hampton Inn, and it's almost entirely booked. Only 11 rooms remain, and two of those are smoking rooms. So, reserve soon! Otherwise, you'll have to deal with staying at a fabulous Inn in downtown Ogunquit! Alternative Hotel Options

So, we have the suits, we have the shirts, we have the ties. Everything is going to match except our underwear! We are going to look good. Scott did a fantastic job in picking out our attire. Additionally, we've finally selected the favors and a place to stay for the weekend. As for the meal, we're just trying to figure out the wines we want - which we're utilizing out friend Matt for that. That's what he does for a living - sell wine.

Many response cards have come in...but we're waiting on about half of you right now! Hurry up! April 6 is quickly approaching!!!!!!

The hotels are filling up quickly as well. Please make sure to utilize the links provided to find alternatives to the 6 suggested places to stay. The Hampton Inn should still have many rooms left.

Envelopes Addressed and Stuffed

So - the majority of the envelopes are stuffed and addressed. Just now waiting on getting to the post office for the stamps. This is a great sign! They'll be going out tomorrow (for most of you). Many of you have already made reservations at the Hampton Inn. I want all of you to check out the Links page for contact information for them. That way you can get the best price!

Three meetings and homemade pizza

Whilst visiting with Brian's family in Maine over the weekend of February 3, we were able to meet with Gayle (the baker), Maggie (the photographer), and Kate (the florist) to get some more preparations for the ceremony completed. What a fun weekend! Not only did we get to spend a lot of great time with our families, we were able to get a lot accomplished otherwise in regards to the commitment ceremony. Truly a productive weekend. One thing we are in disagreement on is the trolley stops in Ogunquit, as there is some disconnect on how far they are going to actually need to be from one another. We'll have to make another trip to iron out this burning question.
